Great clinical potential has been demonstrated for anti-cancer dendritic cell vaccines. Tailor made vaccines are prepared from the cancer patient’s own blood. In this project we aim to design polymers that mimic dendritic cells in their capacity to activate the immune system to eradicate the tumour, resulting in a (semi-)synthetic “off-the-shelf” anti-cancer vaccine.
