Noel de Miranda will join the KNAW Young Academy

Noel de Miranda is Principal Investigator of the Cancer Immunogenomics group and Associate professor at the LUMC Department of Pathology. He seeks to understand how a patient’s immune system recognizes cancer cells, how cancer cells escape such recognition, and how our knowledge of this behavior can be used to develop effective immunotherapies. As a Young Academic member, his focus will be on promoting sustainable and stimulating academic environments for researchers that are simultaneously inclusive and accessible to society.

Noel de Miranda belongs to the group of ten new members who will be welcomed by The Young Academy in March of 2022. The new members explore a variety of topics, from the human image of the ancient Greeks to constructing an artificial mathematics teacher.
