Research activities:
Mass spectrometry has emerged as a powerful tool to probe the peptide ligandome presented by human leukocyte antigens (HLA) Class I. The analysis of the HLA ligandome of cancer cells is crucial for the understanding of the antigen presentation processes and for the identification of epitopes as potential targets in cancer immunotherapy. Furthermore, investigation of the tumor associated antigens as well as their post-translational modifications by mass spectrometry provides large datasets that are essential for the improvement of algorithms used for the prediction of target epitopes in cancer immunotherapy.
