Research activities:

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a common neuroinflammatory disease, which currently lacks an effective treatment. In recent years, based on research in mice, lipid metabolism has gained attention as a new therapeutic target. However, the role of lipid metabolism in human disease is still unclear. My ICI project aims to study lipid metabolism in MS using post-mortem brain tissue from patients. We will use activity-based chemical proteomics to study the activity of lipid metabolizing enzymes. Furthermore, we will synthesize fluorescent dyes to visualize the localization of lipid-metabolizing enzymes in the brain, with a special focus on endocannabinoid lipid signaling.
