Research activities:
High affinity tumor-specific antibodies armed with drugs or cytotoxic bi-specific tumor-specific antibodies are emerging as promising compounds to kill tumor cells.
In my PhD project, I am applying sortase catalyzed transpeptidation to site-specifically modify antibodies and antibody fragments with non-natural functionalities such as click handles. By turning them into formats like antibody drug conjugates or bi-specific antibodies, I aim at potentiating the cytotoxicity of newly discovered antibodies against cancer specific targets.
Currently, I am working on bi-specific antibody formats that bind tumor cells and at the same time engage cytotoxic lymphocytes.
