Research activities:
Regaining the balance of immune activities between two T cell subtypes, conventional T cells (Tconv) and regulatory T cells (Treg) are therapeutically relevant for cancer and auto-immune diseases. Tconv and Treg have many common features such as co-stimulatory and cytokine receptors, yet employ distinct metabolic programs. In this project, using mass spectrometry-based metabolomics and metabolite tracing, we aim to study the differences in metabolism between Tconv and Treg, and pinpoint candidate metabolic targets for therapeutic intervention that can selectively modulate T cell activity.
